Modern Theatre, typically described as late 19th century and early 20th century, is the origin of the American Theatre Canon. This interactive lecture series will cover the life and works of three major playwrights from this time period. Together, we will explore how theatre interacted with major historical events such as the turn of the century, the world wars, and the great depression. July 24th (Oscar Wilde - at the Turn of the Century) July 31st (Eugene O'Neil - and the World Wars) August 7th (Lillian Hellman - a Woman Ahead of Her Time) Registration is required.
