Belly Dance Fun Series

Empower your spirit with Belly Dance. Belly Dancing Fun builds confidence, core body awareness, improves posture, increases flexibility, body strength and stamina all with a safe, whole body workout while having fun dancing! Start classes with stretches, Belly Dance techniques and fun choreographies will lift spirits and confidence with great fun. Loaner Hip scarves enhance our moves and fun. Class can be taken seated or standing and gentlemen are welcome. Under the guidance of Lorraine Gelard, you’ll create a colorful fall-themed pumpkin design on a 10x10 wooden hanging plaque. It is a perfect way to add a cozy touch to your home. Enjoy the creativity and seasonal spirit, then take home your finished piece to enjoy for years to come. All skill levels are welcome and supplies are provided. $15 per person and registration is required.

Carroll will lead you off on themes and plot structure of various stories, but the group will evolve into an engaging and interactive zoom discussion. Give your opinion of the story, likes and dislikes, and get to appreciate the short story form. You will receive an email one week prior to the group containing the story and the group zoom link. Mondays in Motion

Start your fitness week off right with a little bit of everything in exercise! In this class, we combine some low-impact cardio moves, weights, leg work for balance and stability and very important core work! This class can be done seated or standing.

Meditation on ZOOM

Join Megan for meditation class, where we check in with each other and then settle into stillness to check in with ourselves. Meditation aims to cultivate mental clarity, emotional resilience and lightheartedness. All are welcome!

Osteo-cise Live & Zoom

This weekly class is formatted for those who have or are at risk of osteopenia or osteoporosis and will focus on giving you better bones and body awareness. Exercises will center on improving strength, bone density, posture and balance via weight bearing exercises, including impact loading and resistance training. We will learn how to move safely with Osteo, what to avoid doing as well as how to properly do your everyday movements. Join and start stepping in the right direction!

This class combines all of your favorite aspects of fitness and puts them together into one solid workout! It is a combination of low-impact cardio, strength, core and flexibility with a variety of activities to improve your cardiovascular health, muscular strength and endurance. It's the best of both worlds! This class can be done seated or standing.

Arthritis Mobility ZOOM

Customized classes to meet your needs. In class you will work connective tissue and joints to create space and strengthen muscles and bones to help with balance. You will connect your breath to your body, mind and soul. Brain Health and Fitness HYBRID

Exercise classes can be categorized into two experiences - mindless and mindful. This class takes a different path - seamlessly integrating physical training with cognitive exercises. You'll enjoy the benefits of cardio and resistance exercises while also stimulating your brain to improve balance, boost memory, enhance reaction speed, and increase agility.

Photos Made Easy with Andrew Wind

This class teaches you how to confidently take, find, organize, and share photos on your iPhone. You will explore how to use the Camera and Photos apps, understand important buttons and tools, and organize pictures into albums for easy access. You will also learn how to search for photos, edit images, and recover pictures that were accidentally deleted. As part of the Tech for Everyday Life Series with Andrew Wind, this class is designed to help you manage your photos with ease and confidence. Registration is required.

Plug In & Pitch In with GCDS (formerly Tech:Time)

Join us at Greenwich Country Day School! Each month, members of the Wallace Center will connect with students through meaningful service projects, shared learning, or drop in for friendly technology help. Bring your devices and your questions, for one-on-one help from students. This month, work alongside students to decorate and fill pencil cases that will be donated to Kids in Crisis. Come lend a hand, learn something new, and build connections across generations. The location is GCDS 401 Old Church Road, Greenwich, CT.

A Matter of Balance: In-person or Zoom

Balance training involves doing exercises to strengthen the muscles that help keep you upright, including your legs and core. Practicing single leg stances while doing a bicep curl or circling your arms while standing on a pretend balance beam will challenge your mind and body. These kinds of exercises can improve strength, range of motion, stability and posture, which ultimately will help prevent falls. Walk the Distance Cos Cob Park (Wednesday)

This class is formatted the same as Walk The Distance with Weights except the location is at Cos Cob Park, and instead of working with weights, we work on our Balance the last 20 minutes of class. Again the view is spectacular overlooking the Cos Cob Harbor from the Pavilion.

Mahjong

Are an avid Mahjong player? If so, this group is for you!

Chair Yoga Wednesday

Yoga builds strength and flexibility, as well as improving balance. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a chair or standing while using the chair for support. It helps improve flexibility, increase strength and reduce stress and joint strain. All poses are done either in the chair or standing next to the chair for support. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.

Buff Bones - Pilates (Virtual Only)

Buff Bones is a Pilates-based workout developed by bone health specialist Rebekah Rotstein following her osteoporosis diagnosis at age 28. She developed the method to protect bones, increase strength and tackle osteoporosis by strengthening bodies. The program combines standing and mat work to support bone and joint health through safe, full-body movements.
